African Sun Energy (ASE) participated in a stakeholder engagement convened by Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) in partnership with the Ministry of Energy, bringing together key stakeholders to discuss Botswana’s energy transition and the opportunities for clean technology development and local manufacturing.
The engagement formed part of ongoing conversations around Botswana’s transition towards a more diverse sustainable economy, supported by a secure and inclusive energy future, with a particular focus on how policy can support investment, industrialisation and the growth of local clean technology industries.
Creating an Enabling Environment for Local Manufacturing
One of the key discussions focused on “Creating an Enabling Policy Environment for Local Clean Technology Manufacturing.”
African Sun Energy Director Robert Hanna was invited to contribute to the session, drawing on the company’s experience in developing and implementing renewable energy solutions in Botswana.
The discussion explored the importance of creating an enabling policy environment that can encourage private-sector participation, attract investment and support the development of local capabilities across the clean energy value chain.
