African Sun Energy Strengthens Regional Collaboration Through Kenya Visit and SBIP

Participation Gaborone, Botswana – April 2026

African Sun Energy continues to expand its regional footprint and thought leadership in sustainable energy through active participation in high-level innovation and knowledge exchange platforms across Africa. Following its involvement in the launch of the Scalar Botswana Innovation Program (SBIP) in Gaborone, the company further strengthened its continental engagement through participation in the UK–Kenya–Botswana Trilateral Learning & Knowledge Exchange Programme held in Kenya.

Representing Botswana on a Regional Stage

African Sun Energy’s Director, Robert Hanna, travelled to Kenya as part of a Botswana delegation to take part in the trilateral programme—an initiative that brings together stakeholders from the United Kingdom, Kenya, and Botswana.

The programme is designed to facilitate knowledge sharing, strengthen cross-border partnerships, and explore innovative, scalable solutions for sustainable development— particularly in sectors such as renewable energy and climate technology.

Driving Knowledge Exchange in Renewable Energy

  • Advancing renewable energy deployment across Africa
  • Unlocking investment in climate-tech solutions
  • Enhancing policy frameworks to support sustainable infrastructure
  • Sharing best practices and lessons learned from each country

Kenya, widely regarded as a leader in renewable energy innovation in Africa, provided a valuable backdrop for discussions on scaling clean energy solutions. The country’s progress in geothermal, wind, and solar energy development offered key insights for Botswana’s evolving energy landscape.

Building Partnerships for Sustainable Growth

A central focus of the programme was fostering meaningful partnerships between governments, private sector players, and development organizations. By participating in this exchange, African Sun Energy continues to position itself as a key contributor to Africa’s clean energy transition.

Robert Hanna highlighted the importance of regional collaboration, noting that shared knowledge and partnerships are essential to accelerating the adoption of renewable energy technologies and building resilient energy systems.

A Continued Commitment to Innovation

African Sun Energy’s participation in both the SBIP launch and the trilateral programme reflects its commitment to driving innovation, collaboration, and sustainable development within Botswana and beyond.

As the company continues to deliver impactful solar energy solutions, it remains dedicated to engaging in platforms that promote knowledge exchange and unlock new opportunities for growth in Africa’s renewable energy sector.
